When do I get my epidural !!!

My friend Bec just had a baby, before she had it everyone insisted on telling her what her experience was going to be like and mostly it focused on the horror and the pain, and those near death or feeling like near death experiences. Going to India is taking on something of the same flavour, everyone man and his mangy dog wants to tell me what disease I will die from and how I will have everything including the underpants I am wearing stolen from me. At least when you have a baby you have the option of the epidural, although more than a few have made me aware of the drug situation in India (and yes dad! I am not going to accept any packages from anyone - least of all those in the family).

Having never travelled before I am overcome with feelings of excitement, thoughts of not having to take another bloodly call from Beryl from Wodonga about how her Chardonnay 'seems a little more yellow than it should be' or William from Woolahra wondering why the label does not display all the medals detailed in the notes - sends me into bliss.

Wrapping up Uni is also a bitter sweet feeling, I am never again going to have to paste collars onto wine bottles and call it a post modern comment on class struggle or talk bullshit about the state of Australian Art, but this make me both sad and relieved. What other arena is there, when you just have to think about things and its really important.

The actual plane ride also is sending small frissons of excitment down my spine, having never travelled on an international flight since my arrival to Australia, the thought of free alcohol, hot towels and unlimited and guilt free hours of movies and my beloved music video sends me into estacy.

Beyond this I have no reference point for excitment I simply have no idea what to expect....
